Notes:

So what's next for the Maemo community? Obviously lots of excitement around the launch of Maemo 5 and the N900 - it being a sea-change compared with what was possible with the earlier devices. In addition to that, we're prepping for the Maemo Summit. Last year in Berlin was the first Maemo Summit, kindly organised by Nokia for the Maemo community to get together and discuss all things Maemo, including the steps to Maemo 5 and where we are now.

This year, Nokia are again paying for it - but a lot of the organisation has been done by the community in conjunction with Nokia. We've got 3 days of exciting talks, sessions and breakouts on three tracks: users, applications and platform. Registration is free, so if you'd like to start getting involved in the Maemo community, get yourself to Amsterdam in October for 3 days of techno-excitement.

It's an exciting time for the Maemo community as we grow from the thousands of enthusiasts we are now, into the mainstream prosumer market and I feel proud to have been there from the start; but am mostly eager to see where we can go next.
