<-- bleb.org/tv/ listings data -->

For more single-file and XMLTV downloads of this data please see /tv/data/listings.

This data is available for reuse. However if you are reusing it please let me know <andrew@bleb.org> and consider joining the development list. See http://www.bleb.org/tv/ for details.

Data format

The directories -1 to 6 contain listings for each day as an offset from today, ie. "-1" is yesterday, "0" is today etc.

Within these directories are a set of XML files named shortname.xml, where "shortname" is directly converted into the displayed name (see the source code for details).

The format of the XML files can be seen in this mailing list posting, with the exception that the last programme on each day will not have an end time or duration.

Rules for using this data:

PLEASE NOTE, FAILING TO FOLLOW THESE RULES MAY GET YOUR IP/APPLICATION BANNED. THEY AREN'T DRACONIAN BUT ARE TO ALLOW TRACKING OF EXACTLY WHO/WHAT IS USING THE DATA.
  1. A gap of at least 2 seconds must separate each file fetch. There are other users of the server, remember.
  2. The user agent of the script downloading the data should contain, at a minimum, the application name and author email address. For example: "TV::Fetch::XML, http://www.bleb.org/tv/ - andrew@bleb.org" Alternatively, if the user agent cannot be changed, appending a query string to the XML fetches containing the application name is sufficient. In this case then please notify me of your application name so I've got an email address to contact in case of problem. For example: ".../tv/listings/0/bbc1.xml?TVFetchXML"
  3. A link back to bleb.org crediting it as the data source would be appreciated, but is not mandatory.
